"The space we live in consists of various elements. The ides of ‘living together in a relationship’ is considered to be the most important value of all, which should not be neglected in our lives. However, along with the modern society developing with new and exciting cultures, the sense of ‘living together’ has been regarded indifferently through generations. In such environment, observing symbiosis between natural organisms and humans provides us a chance to reflect the reality of the human society. While taking a look at the lives of those natural organisms, I recall values forgotten in the society and myself, who was too engrossed in my own development all al
one.

 The formatively-expressed symbiotic lives are expressed in abstract drawings with my expanded imagination. In the process of converting drawings to jewellery, I used various materials, from natural objects such as eggshells, shells, and branches to synthetic resins and many different techniques including hammering, enameling, coloring, and sewing.

 My abstract jewellery can fragmentarily and compressively describe images of the living organisms that I have taken note of. Also, this research provides wearers and viewers with chances to see our lives from outside with visual interest."

"우리가 살아가고 있는 공간은 다양한 요소들로 이루어져 있다. 서로 관계를 이루며 ‘함께 살아간다.’는 것은 삶에 있어서 빼놓을 수 없는 중요한 가치이다. 하지만 날마다 넘쳐나는 새롭고 자극적인 문물과 함께 발전하는 현대사회 안에서 ‘더불어 살아간다.’ 는 생각은 점점 실천되지 못하며 세대가 거듭될수록 무덤덤하게 받아들여져 가고 있다.

이러한 환경에서 자연 속 생물들의 함께 살아가는 모습을 관찰하는 것은 잠시 인간 사회의 현실을 다시 생각하게 하는 반성의 계기를 제공한다.
생물들의 삶을 관찰하면서 인간이 잊고 살아가던 가치를 되돌아보며 혼자서 앞으로 나아가기에만 급급했던 나 자신의 태도도 다시 생각하게 된다.

조형적으로 표현한 생물들의 공생하는 삶은 나의 확장된 상상력과 함께 그림을 통하여 추상적으로 표현된다. 그림이 장신구로 변환되는 과정에서 알, 조개껍데기, 나뭇가지와 같은 자연 그대로의 것부터 레진과 같은 합성수지까지의 다양한 재료들과 망치성형, 칠보, 도색, 바느질 등 여러 기법들을 사용하였다. 

추상적인 장신구들은 내가 주목해왔던 생물들의 모습을 단편적이며 압축적으로 보여준다. 이 연구 작품들은 착용자, 관람자들에게 시각적 흥미로움과 함께 자신을 벗어나 우리의 삶을 바깥에서 바라보는 기회를 제공한다. "
